To assure optimal extraction of Blue Flag's bioactive compounds, the rhizome (with roots) is hand-harvested in late autumn or early spring and is then taken directly to our laboratory and promptly extracted while still fresh and succulent.
Our Blue Flag is never fumigated or irradiated.
